This is not casual labelling but a recording log of his own design. The programme opens with ⟨The Eight Immortals' Birthday Blessing⟩ (the celebratory curtain-raiser that also opens reel 2) and gives its heart to ⟨Naokaifeng⟩ — Judge Bao holding court at Kaifeng. The note 'recorded slow' most plausibly means that passage was taped at the machine's slowest speed, 4.75 cm/s, to stretch the tape — an inference from the Philips's own specifications, no more. And the 'Song Chuzhen' among the singers appears in no source at all — perhaps a slip for Zhu Chuzhen, the voice that dubbed Chen Shuzhuang's singing in the film of Accusing the Husband — a question the archive asks, not an answer.
