《四告狀》由新天彩潮劇團演出 — 新天彩是香港著名的潮劇電影班底，與東山班分庭抗禮，台柱陳楚蕙紅遍東南亞。此劇初記之時未見電影紀錄，這盤帶子保存的或許是難得的舞台或廣播錄音。帶尾另有《趙氏孤兒》選段 — 中國最古老的悲劇之一。其後的影目考得，一九六六年萬聲公司確曾將《四告狀》拍成電影。惟盒上「新天彩」的歸屬未可盡信 — 帶子原主素有舊盒重用之習，盒面的班牌未必即是盤中之聲。《四告状》由新天彩潮剧团演出 — 新天彩是香港著名的潮剧电影班底，与东山班分庭抗礼，台柱陈楚蕙红遍东南亚。此剧初记之时未见电影纪录，这盘带子保存的或许是难得的舞台或广播录音。带尾另有《赵氏孤儿》选段 — 中国最古老的悲剧之一。其后的影目考得，一九六六年万声公司确曾将《四告状》拍成电影。惟盒上「新天彩」的归属未可尽信 — 带子原主素有旧盒重用之习，盒面的班牌未必即是盘中之声。Si Gao Zhuang (The Four Petitions) is performed here by the New Tian Cai Teochew Opera Troupe — a celebrated Hong Kong Teochew company, great rival of the Dongshan troupe, whose star Chen Chuhui was famous across Southeast Asia. No film of this opera was known when this note was first written, so this tape may hold a rare stage or broadcast recording. At the tail is an excerpt from The Orphan of Zhao, one of China's oldest tragedies. Later research did find a Si Gao Zhuang film — made in 1966 by the Wansheng studio. The New Tian Cai billing itself, though, should be held lightly: the tapes' first owner was a great reuser of boxes, and the troupe printed on a lid need not be the one on the tape.
