It opens with the celebratory ⟨Eight Immortals' birthday blessing⟩, runs The White Fan in instalments, then gives the red side to The Lotus Lantern complete — the myth of Chenxiang splitting the mountain to save his mother — and ⟨Golden Flower Maiden⟩, one of Teochew opera's own native classics. The card corner bears the same mysterious '四声' mark as reel 4; what it meant to him is a riddle the family may yet solve.
